Vigil will be held in Brusly to honor Connecticut victims
A candlelight vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Alexander Park in Brusly to honor the victims of the Connecticut school shooting. The park is located on West St. Francis Street across from Brusly Elementary School. "We just want to get the community together in support of the kids that were killed in Connecticut," said Melvin Abbott. "It could have happened here." The vigil is sponsored by the Westside Supporters. Everyone is invited to attend. There will be prayers and the calling of the victims' names. Attendees are asked to bring candles. A 20-year-old man forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut killing 20 children and six adults on Dec. 14. Copyright 2012 WAFB. All rights reserved.
